Hitting egg sized rocks on the backstop at 180 was too easy. Added in a fitsfull of elevation and started beating up a 5-6 inch plate at 300 yards.In the local LGS yesterday. The bad thing about loosing 10% on your 401k is after looking at inflation, that is a real loss of 20%. That is if you accept the cooked up inflation numbers. Which, IMHO, are really worse. Uh, I thought Ruger still had the 77/17s in WSM in production as over priced small game getters. The problem with WSM is that performance at range is hard to perceive when most people can't/don't shoot much past 150 yards. You have to have everything perfect from a steady rest to make long range hits.I attended my local clubs monthly rimfire benchrest match with my stock 10/22, a 3x9 scope, and bulk ammo . Needless to say I was ill equipped but the organizer let me shoot his CZ 457 and I was hooked. I picked up a CZ 453 that my LGS had and added a Burris 5-25 scope.
